St. Joachim Preschool
Mission Statement
St. Joachim is a Catholic school that serves children in pre kindergarten through eighth grade. As an integral part of the greater parish community, this school is committed to serving the needs of children by providing a quality education that is rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ and traditions of the Catholic Church. St. Joachim strives to prepare students to be lifelong learners and to actively participate in their faith, in their communities, and in the world.
Our Philosophy
St. Joachim School and Parish recognize parents and guardians as their children’s primary educators. Together, we endeavor to educate the whole student. Based upon a firm foundation of Christian values and beliefs, we strive to achieve this goal by challenging the student spiritually, intellectually, socially, physically, and emotionally.
St. Joachim serves students from many different cultural, ethnic, and economic backgrounds. We foster an appreciation and respect for diversity that contributes to the development of community. We aspire to develop self- aware individuals who recognize their unique gifts and who use their talents for the good of others.
We provide a solid academic curriculum and religious instruction that is rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ and the traditions of the Catholic Church. As facilitators of learning, we prepare students to become lifelong learners and to be faith-filled people who actively participate in their church, in their communities, and in the world.
Our Programs
Pre-Kindergarten
St. Joachim Preschool’s pre-kindergarten program allows children the chance to learn, grow, and explore at their own pace while still developing the skills needed for a successful transition into Kindergarten. The program provides a balanced combination of academic curriculum and play-based learning to help children develop their five selves: cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual. Daily activities include (but are not limited to) calendar time, circle time, center time, math readiness, phonics and literacy development, art, science, physical education, music, and religious studies. Children are given a safe and comfortable environment to develop their social skills, problem solving skills, as well as their critical thinking skills. In addition, the program provides the children the necessary resources to develop into self-confident and independent learners.

Daily activities consist of calendar time, circle time, reading stories, singing songs, show and tell, art, phonics, literacy development, math readiness, science and religious studies. The children learn to develop conflict resolution skills which teach the children how to share toys, space and time with others.
